Sent once for every declined attempt to charge a payment, the first one included: at checkout each card the buyer tries, and on a renewal or instalment each attempt the payment processor makes, with will_retry and next_attempt_at saying whether and when it will try again. attempt counts the payment’s declines from 1. A decline reported after the payment already succeeded is still sent. Delivery order against payment.sale.succeeded and subscription.cancelled is not guaranteed. payment.failed is still sent once per payment, at its first decline: subscribe to payment.failed for one alert per failed payment, or to this event for every attempt, not both, or the first decline reaches you twice. Stripe payments only.
